VOLUNTEER WORK DESCRIPTIONS
AWARDS: Put labels on awards and put awards in team bags. This job doesn’t begin until an hour after the meet begins, but you must stay and ensure that the final relays are given awards and awards are placed in the team bags at the end of the day.
TIMERS: Use stopwatch to time swimmers. Please assign someone who can stay focused. Teams are responsible for providing timers throughout the day for your assigned lanes. Teams can switch personnel out if they wish.
T-SHIRT AND HEAT SHEET SALES: Responsible for manning the table and for the sales of shirts and heat sheets. You may switch out throughout the day, but your team is responsible for having someone at the table at all times throughout the day.
CLERK OF COURSE: These people are responsible for assisting in lining up the kids on benches (chairs) by heat. There will be a “corral” area next to the clerk of course area for early comers that you are not ready for yet. Parents who do not have this assignment need to stay in that area as well.
After lining up, one clerk will lead the heat to the deck where they will be put in their lanes by chairs by a deck clerk. ONLY assigned people should be in this area.
DECK CLERK: There will be multiple chairs behind each lane. It is your responsibility to ensure the swimmers are in their correct spots and that they get to the block. Each clerk will be responsible for two lanes each, so standing between the 2 lanes should simplify the process.
DQ SLIP RUNNER: Responsible for picking up DQ slips from officials when they raise their hand and bringing back to head judge for review.
